In the wake of yesterday’s devastating earthquake in Turkey, Google has launched a specialized Person Finder to help victims find missing loved ones. First developed in response to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Google’s Person Finder has since been deployed to several other natural disaster zones, including post-tsunami Japan earlier this year. The idea behind the company’s Turkish initiative remains as straightforward as ever: users can enter information on the person they’re looking for, or add any details they may have on people who aren’t already accounted for

The U.S. version of Nintendo’s reward program, Club Nintendo , never seems to have quite the same caliber of awesome schwag as the original Japanese version.

The Nintendo Wii isn’t doing exactly well in terms of number of consoles sold each month lately, despite the strong start that it had over the PS3 and Xbox 360 when first released in Japan and the US. Well, I guess that is because time has caught up with the rather limited hardware of the Wii, not to mention the fact that Nintendo’s home console seem to be on the receiving end of far more shovelware compared to its counterparts. I guess first party software from Nintendo always does well, and Nintendo pays no attention to how long fans must wait or how much they have suffered in the name of patience.

A vast number of Bravia LCD TVs dating from 2007 and 2008 will be recalled after components in some Japanese sets went into meltdown and started smoking. So far only eleven incidents have been reported and it looks like no one has been hurt or experienced any wider damage, but Sony says it wants to take back 1.6 million TVs that were sold in the US, Europe, Japan and elsewhere. No word on exactly which models are affected, but we’re expecting further details from Sony imminently
