Researchers using LEDs manage fastest wireless data transfer ever

Data transfer speeds have pepped up big time since the inception of LEDs, and the record speeds have been commendable to say the least. Latest and fastest adventure in event comes from Siemens. Siemens’ researchers in collaboration with Heinrich Hertz Institute in Berlin and courtesy LED lights, by Osram, have managed transferring data at a rate of up to 500 megabits per second, over a distance of up to five meters. The splendid transfer rate, which has significantly toppled the previous 200 megabits per second record, is a result of increased amount of emitted light from the LEDs, which for the best bit remain unnoticed to the naked eye.
