Understanding the Halogen Oven

Halogen ovens use the latest technology to help users create their favorite recipes but in up to half the time it would take to cook by using conventional cooking appliances.  One of the great things about the halogen oven is that users can use exactly the same recipes as they always have.  The only adjustments that are required are the temperature and the amount of time the food requires to cook.  The operating temperature of the halogen oven is between 100 and 250 degrees it is this function that gives the halogen oven its versatility, halogen ovens are capable of frying, steaming, stewing, baking, toasting and grilling to name some of the cooking methods.

Cut the Fat

There is no need to add any fat to food or when preparing food to cook in the halogen oven.  The halogen oven will lock in flavors to meat, food is cooking by convection and heat radiating from the halogen ovens element, a built in fan circulates the air around the food cooking it evenly throughout.  When cooking food it must be raised off the base of the glass cooking container the fat will then separate from the meat and is easily removed and disposed of.

Easy Cleaning

Time efficiency is an important design feature in the halogen oven and one of reasons they have grown in popularity so quickly.  Most halogen cookers have a self cleaning function.  The self cleaning function is simple to use, add water to the glass container until the cooking accessories are submerged, however, avoid submerging the halogen oven lid as this contains the cooking element.  Turn on the halogen oven and the water is heated and circulated, easily removing grease stuck on foods.

Plenty of Choice

As halogen ovens have grown in popularity the choices available have also grown, there are now deluxe models available with digital timers and display screens, there are a wide range or colors available too, some manufacturers have started to produce a mini halogen oven now for users who do not want or need the larger volume of the  standard size model.
